AEW Dynamite Suffers Viewership Drop in May Opener

AEW Dynamite’s May 3rd episode showcased a highly promoted main event, with AEW World Champion MJF and Sammy Guevara battling Jungle Boy Jack Perry and Darby Allin.

Despite the high-profile match, the episode’s viewership declined. ShowBuzzDaily and Wrestlenomics report an average of 776,000 viewers, down 10% from the previous week. The 18-49 “key demo” held steady, averaging 365,000 viewers with a 0.28 rating.

Dynamite ranked eighth among Wednesday’s cable originals, placing third behind non-sports shows Vanderpump Rules and Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. Comparing demographics with the median of the prior four weeks, male viewers aged 12-34 and 18-49 increased by 9% and 5%, respectively. However, female viewers aged 12-34 experienced a 35% decline, while adults 50+ and viewers outside the 18-49 range dropped by 17%. Women aged 18-49 also decreased by 13%.
