AJ Styles Advances in World Heavyweight Championship Tournament

WWE Friday Night SmackDown on Fox (May 11) opened with an anticipated WWE World Heavyweight Championship tournament match involving AJ Styles, Rey Mysterio, and Edge. While Mysterio and Styles entered the match in an online exclusive, Edge made a noteworthy television entrance, taking a moment to gaze at the Championship belt.

During the final stages of the match, Edge had Mysterio in an Edgecator, only for Styles to break it up and receive one himself. The match ended when Styles landed a Phenomenal Forearm and secured a pinfall victory over Edge.

Therefore, Styles advance in the tournament. The show continues with a promising lineup, including one more triple threat matches in the ongoing Championship tournament.
