AJ Styles Discusses Status of New World Heavyweight Championship

In a recent interview with The New York Post, AJ Styles, the WWE superstar set to face Seth Rollins at WWE Night of Champions for the inaugural Raw World Heavyweight Championship, shared his thoughts on the status of the new title. Styles acknowledged the perception of the World Heavyweight Championship as a secondary title due to the dominance of Roman Reigns, who currently holds both the Raw and SmackDown championships.
Styles stated, “Well if the Raw championship is held by Roman, the SmackDown championship is held by Roman, then how can you argue that it’s not? We had to make a new championship because Roman holds them all.” He further added that the situation could change if and when Reigns decides to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship.
The upcoming Night of Champions event will be a crucial moment for the newly introduced World Heavyweight Championship. Styles’ comments reflect the current dynamics within WWE and the challenges faced in establishing the new title’s prestige. The outcome of the Night of Champions could significantly impact the perception of the World Heavyweight Championship among fans and within the industry.
