Austin Theory defeats John Cena and retains the United States Championship
At Wrestlemania 39, Austin Theory successfully defended his United States championship against John Cena. Despite Cena applying the STF, the referee was down when Theory tapped out. Theory capitalized by hitting a low blow and his finishing move, A-Town Down, to get the win.
This victory marks Theory’s second reign as the US champion, and he has held the title for 126 days since his victory at Survivor Series: Wargames.
