Brock Lesnar was suggested as an opponent of Steve Austin for WWE Wrestlemania 39

While it was initially reported that there was an idea from WWE for Steve Austin to fight Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 39, a new report suggests that Brock Lesnar was also considered for the WWE Hall of Famer match.

The original report noted that Austin was offered “huge” money to make the match, but it is unknown if he accepted it.

On Wrestling Observer Radio today, Dave Meltzer said that Lesnar has been suggested as Austin’s opponent. However, Meltzer noted that the fight doesn’t seem likely to happen, but things could still change.

It was reported earlier this month that WWE was planning a match between Lesnar and Gunther at the event, with the Intercontinental Championship on the line.
