CM Punk’s anticipated return to All Elite Wrestling (AEW) seems uncertain due to rising backstage tensions. Initially set for a clash with Samoa Joe on the inaugural AEW Collision event on June 17, Punk’s name has been conspicuously absent from recent promotional materials.

Fightful Select reports that complications regarding Ace Steel’s return have intensified the strain between Punk and AEW. While Steel’s potential involvement was suggested to smooth out the internal discord, a disagreement arose when Punk disapproved of Steel’s exclusion from AEW TV tapings.

Despite the ongoing conflict, Warner Bros. Discovery remains optimistic about a resolution between Punk and AEW.
