Cody Rhodes claims WrestleMania doesn’t require Roman Reigns vs. The Rock

WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes has confirmed that he will challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39. Rhodes earned the shot by winning the Royal Rumble match, and if Reigns retains his title against Sami Zayn at the Elimination Chamber on February 18, he will face Rhodes in the main event of WrestleMania.
For nearly a year, WWE had hoped to bring The Rock back for a match with Reigns at WrestleMania, but he declined due to not feeling in good enough ring shape. Some fans have been pushing for Sami Zayn to be included in the main event due to his strong storyline with The Bloodline.
In an interview with Alex McCarthy of Daily Mail, Cody spoke about the ongoing storyline between Zayn and The Bloodline. He noted that fans sometimes have different opinions on who should be in top spots, but ultimately it is up to management to decide. He stated that he fully expects the storylines to converge and that the current WWE stories are better than having The Rock return to WrestleMania 39.
