WWE legend Edge may be retiring from professional wrestling in the near future, as he expressed his desire to retire in 2023 after wrestling in his home country, Canada. In August 2022, Edge main-evented an episode of RAW in Toronto, defeating Damien Priest and addressing the live audience after the show about his retirement plans.

WWE is set to return to Toronto in August for an edition of SmackDown, which could potentially serve as the stage for Edge’s retirement match. While there were rumors about him possibly joining AEW, a recent report by WrestleVotes, as cited by GiveMeSport, suggests that if Edge does retire on August 18, 2023, it would be a retirement from wrestling altogether, not a move to AEW.
