Edge’s move to AEW would be a big surprise for WWE

Recent reports have suggested that Edge and Christian Cage may be interested in reuniting for one last tag team run, either in WWE or All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Edge’s contract with WWE is set to expire later this year, and his future in the company remains uncertain.

According to WrestleVotes, speaking to GiveMeSport, if Edge retires this summer in Toronto, it would not be surprising. However, if he were to leave WWE for AEW, both the fans and WWE would be caught off guard. Despite the potential for a reunion with Christian Cage in AEW, WrestleVotes believes it would be unlikely for Edge to wrestle beyond WWE.

It should be noted that AEW attempted to sign Edge in 2019, but the 11-time world champion ultimately decided to return to WWE at the 2020 Royal Rumble. Christian Cage made his in-ring comeback at the 2021 Royal Rumble before signing with AEW shortly thereafter.
