GUNTHER sets new record with Intercontinental Title

WWE has announced that its Intercontinental Champion, GUNTHER, has broken a new record by holding the title for 245 days, surpassing Shelton Benjamin’s previous record of 244 days. GUNTHER’s reign as Intercontinental Champion marks the longest of the 21st century and puts him among the ranks of other notable WWE stars such as Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Shinsuke Nakamura who held the title for 233, 209, and 201 days, respectively.
GUNTHER has successfully defended the Intercontinental Title seven times, including his most recent victory against Braun Strowman. There are reports suggesting GUNTHER may defend his title at WrestleMania in a three-way match against Sheamus and Drew McIntyre, but this has not been confirmed.
GUNTHER’s record-breaking Intercontinental Title reign is another exciting chapter in WWE’s recent history of record-setting title reigns.
