Katsuyori Shibata’s Next ROH Pure Title Defense Announced

Tony Khan, AEW President and Ring of Honor owner, took to Twitter to announce Katsuyori Shibata’s forthcoming ROH Pure Championship defense.

The New Japan Pro-Wrestling luminary is slated to defend his title against Alex Coughlin, a rising talent from NJPW Strong, in the June 1 episode of ROH On HonorClub. Fightful reports that the episode will be taped during AEW’s time in Las Vegas, which coincides with the live broadcast of Dynamite on May 24 and the Double Or Nothing pay-per-view on May 28.

In Shibata’s recent history, he successfully defended his title against Christopher Daniels in the April 6 ROH on HonorClub episode, continuing his reign that began with a victory over Wheeler Yuta.
