Mustafa Ali Considered Hulk Hogan’s Theme for New Gimmick

WWE superstar Mustafa Ali revealed in a recent interview with Sportskeeda WrestleBinge that he almost used Hulk Hogan’s ‘Real American’ theme for an upcoming character transformation. The character was pitched as a politician-like figure making unfulfilled promises, mirroring some real-world politicians.

Ali detailed a conversation with Vince McMahon where he proposed using the ‘Real American’ theme. Ali said, “I remember talking to Vince at the time and saying, ‘Hey, you know what would really get this character over, because there’s nothing more American in this world than Mustafa Ali? What if I came out to Real American?’ He was quiet… ‘Okay, what if I came out to it?’ He goes, ‘I love it. I love it.'”

The character and music change, however, never materialized due to concerns about network and live audience reactions.
