Revealed the next challenger for Katsuyori Shibata for the ROH Pure Championship

Katsuyori Shibata, the Ring of Honor (ROH) Pure Champion, recently discovered his next challenger following successful defenses against Wheeler Yuta at Supercard of Honor on March 31, and Christopher Daniels. On the April 13 edition of ROH TV, Shibata’s former NJPW LA Dojo student, Alex Coughlin, expressed his desire to face ‘The Wrestler’ for the championship.
Shibata and Coughlin had just secured a tag team victory over The WorkHorsemen on ROH TV when Coughlin approached his mentor for a future title shot. Coughlin later confirmed his intentions via Twitter, stating, “I want the ROH Pure Title I want to fight Shibata for it I’m next in line Student vs Teacher It’s time to train.”
Coughlin was part of the first LA Dojo class in 2018, training under Shibata alongside Clark Connors and Karl Fredericks, who now wrestles as Eddy Thorpe in NXT.
