Sami Zayn Calls for Dream Match with Kota Ibushi

WWE Superstar Sami Zayn has called for a dream match with former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kota Ibushi.
The two men have never faced each other in a singles match, but they did have a memorable encounter in a tag team match in 2012. Zayn, then known as El Generico, teamed with Kevin Steen to defeat Ibushi and Kenny Omega at DDT Special 2012.
Zayn took to Twitter on Monday to express his desire to face Ibushi again. “Kota Ibushi is a lunatic and a gift to pro wrestling,” Zayn wrote. “I need to wrestle him once more before my career is done.”
Ibushi is currently a free agent after his contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling expired in January. He has been sidelined with a shoulder injury since October 2021, but he is expected to return to the ring soon.
It remains to be seen if Zayn and Ibushi will ever get the chance to face each other in a singles match. However, the two men are two of the most talented wrestlers in the world, and a match between them would be a must-see event.
