Steve Austin may have refused to fight at WrestleMania 39

As previously reported, WWE would be very interested in putting Steve Austin to fight again at WrestleMania 39, as he was very pleased with his performance with Kevin Owens at the 2022 event.
It was speculated that the “Texas Rattlesnake” could even be Roman Reigns’ opponent, for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, however, as seen in the past Monday Night RAW, Cody Rhodes, winner of the 30-Man Royal Rumble Match, was announced for this post.
According to Dave Meltzer, from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s no use fans dreaming of Austin in another match, as the WWE Hall of Famer refused to fight anyway at WrestleMania 39. See:
“As far as Austin goes, Steve might be on the show – I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised – he might do something on the show, but he actually turned down wrestling on the show.
He was offered to Lesnar, he was offered to Roman Reigns, he could have named his opponent if he wanted to do that to anyone else.
But he didn’t choose to fight at the event.”
