The Gunns win the AEW World Tag Team Championship
The Gunns are the new AEW World Tag Team Champions.
In a shocking surprise, Austin and Colten Gunn were able to defeat The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) in a match for the AEW World Tag Team Titles on this Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite.
Chaos ensued with referee Stephon Smith being knocked out of the ring by an accidental hit. This led to the Gunns grabbing the belts that were lying at ringside in an attempt to use them against Bowens and Caster. ‘Daddy Ass’ Billy Gunn came to the ring to stop the Gunns from cheating, but Colten Gunn knocked him down with a blow to the back of the head.
The Acclaimed almost walked away with the win, as Caster landed a Mic Drop on Austin Gunn while the referee was still down. As soon as the referee returned to the ring, the Gunns secured victory over The Acclaimed after Colten Gunn hit Anthony Bowens with one of the title belts and rolled up.
This is the first time Austin or Colten Gunn have won an AEW belt. The Gunns’ victory halts The Acclaimed’s reign at the 140-day mark.
